Ohio State earned a commitment from five-star receiver Chris Henry Jr. back in 2023, but that hasn’t stopped other top programs from trying to convince the star receiver to flip his commitment.

Oregon and Texas and have been two of the most aggressive programs in trying to convince the receiver ranked in the top 40 nationally to switch his commitment, and that only picked up this weekend.

Henry began his senior season at Mater Dei High School with a game to remember. The five-star receiver caught four passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns against Ft. Lauderdale Aquinas, which was aired on ESPN.

Henry Shuts Down Any Speculations

With a 100-plus yard, two touchdown performance on national television, Henry is bound to continue to draw attention from other colleges.

However, the fifth-ranked receiver in the country made it clear, he’s a Buckeye.

“They are still hitting me up, but I’m at Ohio State, so,” Henry said (h/t AZ Sports). “It’s been great. It’s been great since I got the offer. Ain’t nothing changed. I still have a great relationship with Coach Hartline and Coach Day. I’m just blessed.”

Ohio State has a long line of talented receiver that have gone onto produce in the NFL, and Henry is thinking up switching anything up.

Henry is one of five receivers in Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class. However, Henry isn’t the only Mater Dei receiver. Henry’s joined by Kayden Dixon-Wyatt as the top two receivers in the class, and the fifth and sixth ranked receivers in the country.

Henry missed time last season due to injury, but he displayed on Saturday that he’s recovering quite well.

“I felt great about my performance,” Henry said after the game (h/t AZ Sports). “As far as my rehab, I just kept my head down and trusted in God. That’s all, it was just leaning on God.”

Henry had a strong start to his senior campaign on Saturday, and the Buckeye’s received a welcoming message that their top 2026 recruit isn’t looking at anywhere else to start his college journey.
